As a land-grant university, Colorado State University was created to serve the people of Colorado through teaching, research, extension and service.  This mission of connecting the people of the state to the knowledge and expertise of the University is what sets the land grant school apart from other institutions of higher education.     

The current economic downturn is being compared to the worst recessions in modern U.S. history and is deeply affecting many citizens, companies, and institutions alike. Colorado State provides education, outreach, and service programs that may help to lighten the load for those affected.
