Economic Development Program
At Colorado State University, we believe that the economic development impact of a research university is measured in value added to society, not multiples of spending. We have created the Economic Development program as part of the Vice Provost for Outreach and Strategic Partnerships Office to conduct and support economic development research and to encourage community economic development, including lifelong learning and innovation partnerships.
CSU’s Economic Development Core Principles
- The overall quality of life in our state and region matters to us.
- Assessing workforce and market potential should be an active, continuous process and include students.
- Colorado State University recognizes that an advanced global network of partners and collaborators is essential to effectively address the challenges of our time.
- Faculty should be rewarded for engagement, including technology development and startup support.
- The primary goal of the commercialization of intellectual property is to benefit society.
