Bighorn Leadership Development Program

Program Design and Curriculum

The Bighorn Leadership Development Program prides itself on being innovative as the world of politics and policy are ever-changing. The unique program design and curriculum allows for it to be readily adapted for different audiences, policy issues, and specific geographic regions of the state.

Bighorn’s unique curriculum was designed in part by former and current elected leaders and policymakers, both Republicans and Democrats who assisted with identifying key elements that are necessary for public leadership and the development of effective public policy.  The curriculum is based on a diverse set of learning activities including lectures, panel discussions, group exercises and discussion, policy development simulations, readings, and interaction with state and regional leaders.
